Thank you for your participation in and support of the 2022 Catholic Imagination Conference. With only one week left until the event, I wanted to ensure you have the information that you need for the conference.
Registration will open on Friday morning from 8:00AM to 12:00PM for you to receive your swag bag and program at SBH Atrium. If you would like to join us for prayer at the Shrine of the Virgin, it begins at 8:15AM, led by poet Shann Ray.
FOOD: There will be coffee and light breakfast items available. Lunch will be brown bag options (sandwiches and chips), served outside of the rooms where the sessions are held, in addition to a Saturday option to tour Our Lady of Dallas Cistercian Abbey (you need to grab your brown bag lunch before catching the bus or driving there). On Friday evening, we will have a sit down banquet at the Marriott Las Colinas. Drinks are available at the cash bar. On Saturday, at the University of Dallas, light hors d'oeuvres will be served in the evening with two tickets for drinks at the bar on campus, prior to the “Heroes” reading.
TRANSIT: If you are staying at the Marriott Las Colinas and driving to the campus, there is parking on campus for visitors in designated spots. Please do carpool with other conference attendees. If you are adventurous and do not mind the short trek to and from the DART station, there is inexpensive ($3) public transit only one stop from the hotel to campus on the orange line. It runs every twenty minutes and takes ten minutes to get to campus. For the Saturday night reading, please arrange your own travel to the Irving Arts Center, which is a mere eight minutes from campus. Plan to share ubers, lyfts, personal vehicles, and rental cars. We’ll delight in the adventure of a caravan.
“HEROES” READING: We did have a change of venue for the reading of “Heroes of the Fourth Turning.” This is a reading and not a staged production; the actors are amazing students from the University of Dallas, directed by Stefan Novinski, with Eleanor Lindsay playing the part of Gina. We will be off campus at the Irving Arts Center in the Dupree Theater, where the ambiance suits the performance but seating is limited. Dr. Jennifer Frey of the University of South Carolina, host of the podcast Sacred and Profane Love, will be the moderator for the talk back, which will also include Glenn Arbery, President of Wyoming Catholic College. Co-sponsored by the University of Dallas Drama Department.
Below we have included a campus map and conference schedule to review, and we will continue updating if things change.
Please send any questions to cic2022 at udallas.edu.
We look forward to welcoming you to the University of Dallas!
